Inspiration
- Working in a library, I get a lot of my inspiration by browsing book covers. Each book cover is a work of art, and tells a lot of
- Browsing Ticktock and other social media platforms.
- Browsing Vinyl records/cd cover art.
Favorites
Styles– Illustrated book covers are my favorite. I am a visual learner and am drawn towards illustrations and bold colors. I also like book covers that use typography to design the cover. I’m a fan of one-page portfolio websites. Some website designs are too busy, and a simple layout is easier to view. I’m a huge fan of Vinyl record designs. I prefer the retro/vintage designs that use faded colors and and vintage type/font.
Designer -Will Staehle is my favorite designer. He has designed dozens of book covers for popular authors, including many Stephen King. His book covers are illustrated with bright, bold colors and trendy fonts. Each cover is unique and memorable, and makes me want to read the novel.

I like the colors and illustrations used on this website. I also
like that it easy to navigate. I was really drawn to the logo, which is a little record. It’s sleek and simple.

This website is dedicated to one of my favorite musicians, Sufjan Stevens. This website was created in 2016 but I feel like it has a timeless look to it. There are a bunch of candid photos of Sufjan and I feel like the colors and design make it whimsical…which goes hand in hand with Sufjan’s music which is eclectic and whimsical.
This website features the works of my favorite designer, Will Staehle. This is a simple 4 page website. Staehle’s designs are the focal point, and the white backround and black typography work behind the scenes to balance everything out.
